CRITICAL tech support

Bank support asks you to install AnyDesk or Quick Support to fix your account

Caller poses as bank customer care saying your KYC is pending or your account is compromised. They send an SMS with a link to install AnyDesk or Quick Support remote-access app, then drain your account.

Also known as: AnyDesk bank scam, Quick Support fraud, KYC pending scam, bank remote access fraud

What to do right now

  1. 1 Do not install any app the caller asks for
  2. 2 Hang up and call your bank's official number on the back of your debit card
  3. 3 If you already installed the app, uninstall it immediately and change your net banking password
  4. 4 Run SeraphSecure (https://www.seraphsecure.com) to detect and remove any remote-access software the scammer installed.
  5. 5 Report at https://cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930 (national cyber helpline).

Was remote-access software installed?

If a scammer asked you to install AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Quick Support, or any remote-access app, your device may still be compromised.

Run SeraphSecure to detect and remove it →

Red flags

  • Your bank will never ask you to install a third-party remote-access app
  • Caller sends an SMS with an app download link — this is the scammer's link, not your bank's
  • Once the app is installed, the scammer can see your screen and transfer money
  • They may ask you to enter your net banking credentials or OTP while 'showing them the problem'
